Christian Club President

This year is my first year as my high school’s Christian Club president. It is definitely a big responsibility, but God has been super faithful! Just as He promises to be ever faithful.

To be honest, I have been feeling defeated at school and in life. I sometimes feel like even though I am doing my absolute best, I fall short. At home, things are turbulent too, which just intensifies the weight I sometimes feel on my shoulders. But God has been using me beyond what I can see for myself, even using my trials.

People have come up to me and shared about what they see in me and how I’m different than everybody else, and they saw Jesus in me- although THEY didn’t know that’s what it was exactly. And God has been showing me that in my weakness, He is glorified, and He completes me in those moments of weakness. In serving our God, though it’s not easy-peezy, my life can still show the people around me that Christ is risen and lives in me.

As for the Christian Club, God himself has surely anointed it. He has provided my team of leaders and I with vision and direction. We have an average of 20 people at our weekly meetings and God has already touched some of the student’s lives in visible ways. So praise God! And pray for campus leaders too! Keep running the good race, because it’s worth it, He’s worth it, and He is by our side the whole way through!

Halie – Witness in Sports

Since my last report, I’ve started prayers before every home boys basketball game at my school. I stuttered through it the first time but I had many people from the crowd tell me they were pleased afterward.

We even got a letter from the opposing team stating that they were thrilled to see students expressing their faith in school. Also, this Christmas season I told my parents not to get me anything for Christmas.

I gave half of the money to Speed the Light and the other half to a missions organization called Active Water. Giving that half helped me to exceed my giving goal set at this past convention already!

God does amazing things through Moriah!

On a Monday in October, Moriah’s friend confessed to her that she had thought about suicide. Moriah invited her to go to church on Wednesday. That same day, only 8 days after Moriah signed up as a Campus Missionary, she received her Firepack. She felt the Lord telling her to give her friend a copy of the Book of Hope and to encourage her to read it every time she had a negative thought.

On Tuesday, that’s just what Moriah did. The next day, her friend came running to her and gave her the biggest bear hug she’d ever experienced! Her friend told her how grateful she was to have Moriah in her life. For the next four hours, the two girls talked about Jesus, and how only he had the power to fix all the broken things that were in her life. That Friday, she gave her life to Jesus, and is now going to church with Moriah!

God wants to do amazing things in the hearts of students. In the Firepack, Campus Missionaries are getting resources to help them follow Jesus to their mission field and make a difference!
